Community Thanksgiving Service and Outreach Center Meeting

The Old Hickory Area Community Thanksgiving worship service has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 22. The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the annual business meeting of all members of the Christian Community Outreach Center. At 7 p.m. we will move into a special service of worship involving folks from are churches. The new pastor at Old Hickory First Baptist Church, Jonathan Wood is being invited to preach, and music will be provided by various groups. The service and meeting will be held at the Temple Baptist Church in Lakewood.

Helping Kids Through Our Backpack Ministry

Each summer at "back-to-school" time, the people of the Old Hickory United Methodist Church collect school supplies and assemble backpacks for kids which are given to kids in our church, and distributed through our local elementary school. This month our church collected almost 100 backpacks to help our area kids in their education, offering a prayer of blessing over them for the well being of those who received them. This ministry is just one of many in which our congregation participates as a means of showing the love of Jesus Christ to the children of Old Hickory.

Music City Bronze to Perform at OHUMC

Music City Bronze, Nashville's premier handbell ensemble will be coming to perform in the historic Old Hickory UMC Sanctuary. The concert is scheduled to be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 19. The group, which part of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, draws on a wide variety of music to create a program that will entertain persons of all ages.

Come experience a wonderful evening of handbell wonder.

Outreach Center Fashion Show a success!

We had over 40 people from our church to participate in this event...OVERWHELMING to say the least! Thank you for whatever your part was to make this day the best ever! You helped with bake sale items, modeling, donations and the like, and we are truly grateful for you being a part of this worthwhile event. See you next year!
